Maths

Watch the interactive video from WhiteRose below and the youtube link and then complete the activities into your red maths book.

English

WARM UP:

Rewrite these sentences so the adverbial is at the start - what punctuation will you need?

1. The sky was an ombre of reds and oranges this morning.

2. There was a squawk from a macaw high up in the trees.

3. Dark clouds bruised the sky in the afternoon.

WALT: Create questions for a character.

Today, we are going to come up with questions for Toki about life in his village in the rainforest as we are going to write him a letter at the end of the week.

Most questions begin with either 'who', 'what', 'where', 'when', 'why' or 'how' and ALWAYS end with a QUESTION MARK. A good question should encourage the person to explain their answer as fully as they can.

Look at these two questions:

How did Toki's feelings change?

What might Toki have been feeling during his adventure with the chameleon?

Which question gives you a more detailed answer? Why?

This grid can help you create open, challenging questions that will get a detailed answer.

TASK:

Watch the video again and come up with 3 questions for Toki.

Use the above grid to help you.
