Look at power point 'semi-colons, colons and dashes'; make sure you are clear on how to use them.

Complete pages 1 and 2 from the worksheets below.

Re-read the end of 'Midnight Duel' (from page 168).

Look at extract (below) of the description of where the children meet the monster.  Can you identify effective use of repetition?  Can you find three powerful verbs that describe the monster?  Look at the use of a dash, colon and semi-colon in the description.
