On the 6th January 2020,we enjoyed a really informative trip to the Manchester Police Museum to help with our new topic this half term, 'Crime and Punishment.'
We found out how the police force started with 'The Peelers' and how uniform, weapons and cells have changed through the decades; we even got to try on police uniforms and helmets!
Our favourite part of the trip was re-enacting a court case in a real court room and taking on different roles such as: Judge, Defendant, Witnesses and Jury to reach a verdict.
Throughout the rest of our exciting topic we will be:
- Reflecting on our wonderful trip and thinking about what we have learnt.
- Learning about Guy Fawkes and the gun powder plot and be justifying whether his punishment was too harsh or not?
- Writing a newspaper report about the gun powder plot to explain the key details.
- Coming together as a year group to showcase all our wonderful new learning with a class assembly on the 18th March.
We hope you enjoy our school trip pictures and learning below...
