Check out what we have been up to...
Monday 18th July- Friday 23rd July
Our last week together as 6ET!
We are looking forward to our festival on the field party to say farewell!
Picnics, bouncy castle assault course, popcorn and candyfloss, games, music, DJ and lots of FUN!
Monday 12th July- Friday 16th July
Miss Evans and Miss Tidman have been super impressed with everyone's independent learning skills this week. We are so proud with how you have shown resilience.
Check out our Harry Potter artwork!
We have also written poetry about our own mythical beasts.
This week in English, we have continued to enjoy reading 'Harry Potter- The Philosopher's Stone'. The children have completed a range of activities based on the text. On Wednesday, the children created new houses for Hogwarts and designed crests to represent their own ideas.
Monday 28th June- Friday 2nd July
This week in science the children finished their investigation 'What makes mould grow?', after 2 weeks we finished observing the bread- we had some very gross and SMELLY results! The children discovered that a warm, damp and dark condition was the most successful in growing mould and that the worst for growing mould was a light and dry condition.
In English the children have created, planned and written a non-chronological report about their own mythical creature. They have continued to enjoy reading Harry Potter and The Philosopher's Stone and took part in a quiz, which resulted in a tie break! On Friday the children wrote letters to the year 2 children, who will be joining us in September, to tell them about the wonderful things that happen at VPJS and to reassure them.
Monday 21st June- Friday 25th June
This week in maths we have continued to look at ratio and proportion, we have used our knowledge and skills to then solve problems in our groups.
In science we have been investigating what makes mould grow and how to keep food fresher for longer. Over the last week, the children have been observing 2 slices of bread in different conditions.
Monday 14th June- Friday 18th June
Another great day at RobinWood! Look how we have shown COURAGE!
Monday 7th June- Friday 11th June
What a first week back!
A huge highlight was our day at RobinWood. We showed so much courage and team work, we all were so proud of ourselves and each other.
We also started reading Harry Potter and got inspired to write persuasive letters, putting ourselves forward as students for Hogwarts!
