History
We finished off our history topic by comparing the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age and choosing which one we would like to live in and why. Here are some of our wonderful posters:
Euro 2020
This week saw the end of our Euro 2020 competition. Each team had one more chance to make the finals and played some wonderful football. The teams who came first, second and third were lucky enough to receive a medal from Mr Moroney our P.E. coordinator. We have had an amazing few weeks of football and showed excellent sportsmanship throughout - well done!
Monday 28th June - Friday 2nd July
History
This week we moved onto researching the Iron Age. We looked at how iron was made and how they were different to the Bronze Age. We also found out lots more information on their clothing, homes and weapons. Check out some of our 'snazzy jazzy double page spread' on the Iron Age.
Safety
This week we looked at water safety in various different situations. We discussed how a swimming pool is the safest option and how we should never go swimming without an adult. We also learned what we should do if we are ever in danger in the water.
Have a look at some of our water safety posters in our class book.
Monday 21st June - Friday 25th June
Maths
This week in Maths, we have been looking at length in mm, cm and metres then had a go at measuring lots of different objects inside and outside of the classroom. We also had a go at converting them from one unit of measure to the other which can be tricky at times but we did a great job!
English
To recap everything we have learned in our Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar lessons this year, we had a SPaG treasure hunt around the playground. It was interesting to see what we could remember while under pressure to find all the hidden questions!
Monday 14th June - Friday 18th June
On Friday, we had the pleasure of visiting the new community building at Victoria Park. We took our Science topic 'plants and flowers' with us and became Victoria Park Improvement Officers. Our job was to think how we could attract more wildlife to the park. We had to explore what was already there and think how we could improve it. We also created a wonderful nature picture with what we collected from around the park and topped the morning off with a lovely picnic on the green!
Monday 7th June - Friday 11th June
Maths
This week in Maths we have been exploring money which is a part of our every day lives. We have been looking at pounds and pence and making lots of different amounts. We enjoyed using the coins in our learning even though we had a few questions if it was real or not!
History
Continuing with our Stone Age topic, we investigated what the greatest achievement by the Stone Age people. We discussed lots of different options with our partners then organised them into a 'diamond nine' with the most important at the top and the least important at the bottom.
