Another super busy week in 5R!
This week, we've had a really busy week in 5R and I'm been really impressed by all of the hard work, determination shown this week by all members of the class. This week the achiever focus of the week was all about resilience and 5R have definitely shown what resilient learners they are! Well done.
This week has been a tricky week as we've had some moments of having to work really quietly whilst Year 6 were doing their SATs test and also lots of wet plays as the weather has been rubbish, but 5R have adjusted so well and should be really proud of themselves this week.
English - This week in English, we've been reading more of the poem 'The Highwayman' by Alfred Noyes. We've enjoyed reading the next few stanzas and learning lots of new vocabulary. 5R have work extremely hard on their vocabulary, sentence building and writing the build up of their own narrative.
Maths - This week in Maths, we've been learning all about percentages. We've been applying our knowledge about decimals and fractions to be able to convert between percentages, decimals and fractions and even solved some tricky problems.
Swimming - Another excellent swimming lesson this week. The behaviour during our swimming lesson was fantastic and each and every member of the class represented our class and school exceptionally.
Computing - This week we've been building more of our maze game on Scratch. We've been learning about direction and using motion blocks to make our sprite move on keyboard shortcuts. I'm really looking forward to seeing the games finished!
History - This week, we've been learning more about Early Islamic Civilisation. We've been looking at the round city of Baghdad and learning about why it was build and why it was build in a circle. The children in 5R produced some excellent pieces of work. Well done.
