Wednesday 25th May: Jubliee Day!
In celebration of Her Majesty The Queen's Platinum Jubilee in 2022, we had a fantasic whole school Jubilee day.
We had a look a pictures from her life and had to identify who we recognised, what was happening and when the photograph was taken.
We did some art inspired by a portrait of the Queen, researched previous monarchs and then sorted them onto a historical timeline.
Our favourite part of the day was our tea party and games afternoon!
Monday 16th May 2022 - Friday 20th May 2022
We have lots of exciting activities and lessons in year 6 this week!
On Tuesday, we were fortunate to visit the Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Temple to learn about Buddhism. We listened to the story of the Buddha, explored the temple and looked at the different shrines.
We are very fortunate to have our own class expert- Kesler- who demonstrated how to wear the robes.
We returned to school and completed some Buddhism inspired art.
We also took part in a problem solving workshop this week. It was certainly a test of our team work and determination.

Year 6 have certainly made us proud this week by demonstrating their fantastic determination and resilience.
We have had rather busy mornings completing our SATS but have had completed some lovely art activities in the afternoon.
Firstly, we worked on a collaborative art project inspired by the art of Chuck Close.
Each child recieved an individual square. When the 25 pieces are put together, they reveal a picture.
Take a look at our Hermione and Dumbledore.
We then took on the half-face challenge using a range of Harry Potter characters. Take a look below at some of our fantastic work.

I am SO proud of the hard work, mature attitude and determination that 6B have shown this week.
We have practised, practised and then practised some more in preparation for next week.
It is incredible to see how far each and every member of the class has come since September.
So remember to just try your best and remember that you are wonderful and should be proud of yourself no matter what.
