Week 7 - This week, the children used their river poems to create dance movements to showcase to other groups. Here are the freeze frames of the children performing.
Week 6 - This week we had the opportunity to showcase our learning in geography. A fantastic amount of effort went into the showcase from all of year 5 children and we were so pleased at how many parents came to see our wonderful work

Week 4 - This week in geography, we have been researching 'The Day of the Dead' festival in North America. The children have created fact files and even had a go at designing their own pieces of skull art based on the artist Jean-Michel Basquiat.
Week 3 - Over the last two weeks, the children have researched an artist called Peter Thorpe. Peter creates space art and we have designed and created our own pieces using oil pastels, water colours and pencil crayons

Week 1 : Monday 21st - Friday 25th February
Wow! The children have all returned to school really well this week after a well-earned, half term break. They have worked extremely hard in all lessons and produced some fantastic work. In Geography, we have be learning about lines of longitude and latitude and what they mean, before moving on to our new topic of 'North America' next week. In English we have watched the animated short story, 'Broken' - a tale of the battle between Rock, Paper and Scissors and have written some super character descriptions.
Maths this week has been all about fractions, building on our knowledge from Year 4 and learning to recognise equivalent fractions and in computing, we have discussed how the children can recognise when someone (or themselves) may be being bullied online/offline and what they can do about it. In both lessons we have used our knowledge to learn through playing games!
