Achievers of the week: Ellie, Molly and Laween

Our final week this half term has been as action-packed as ever! We have been working on equivalent fractions in Maths and have used the fraction tiles to help us with this. We have also put the finishing touches onto our self portraits in Art and added a background using oil pastels.

On Thursdays, we have our Music Appreciation class assembly where we listen to a variety of music genres. This week was rock and the children (and Miss Garner) had a great time singing and dancing to Avril Lavigne. Our personal favourite was 'Complicated' and the children have even requested to learn it in our Music lessons!

Achievers of the week: Jassi, Stephen and Mikail

Readers of the week: Mikaiah and Ellie

What a fun week we've had this week! On Wednesday, we had our Aspirations Day where we had lots of different guests in to speak about their jobs. We had a midwife, a physiotherapist, a TV presenter and a radio producer from the BBC. We then had Pop Project in the afternoon where we did lots of singing and dancing and they told us about how we can achieve our dreams. The children were inspired by the day and many of them came away with a new job that they might want to do in the future.

Monday 16th January - Friday 20th January

Achievers of the week: Holly and Felza

Reader of the week: Hashim

What an exciting week we have had this week in 3G! We were very excited by the snow on Thursday. In Art, we have been continuing to improve our self portraits and have used feedback from our friends to help us improve our drawings of an eye. On Wednesday, we had a visit from Matt Goodfellow who gave us a poetry workshop. The children produced some amazing poems called 'Have You Seen?'.

Tuesday 3rd - Friday 6th January

Achievers of the week: Molly, Wilfy and Mikail

Happy New Year and welcome back! We started off this week with a bang when we took part in our volcanoes and earthquakes workshop as part of our Geography unit. The children thoroughly enjoyed using dance and drama in this! They made some brilliant research projects on volcanoes where they were responsible for their own research. In English, we have been focusing on perfecting our Year 2 spellings and making our handwriting look beautiful. In Maths, we have continued with our Multiplication and Division unit and began to look at column multiplication without exchanges.
