This week in maths, we have been learning all about equivalent fractions. We have been using lots of different methods to work out if fractions are equivalent, such as number lines, bar models and fraction tiles. Our top tip is: whatever you do to the bottom, you do to the top!

This half term, we are have been problem solvers. We have been learning all about algorithms and how to debug programs.
Monday 23rd January - Friday 27th January 2023
This half term, we are learning how to play dodgeball with Mr Shawcross. We have been playing with different rules each week, which has been difficult at times, but we love it! Check out our action shots!
This week's music appreciation genre was 'pop' which was right up Miss Daly's street and to top it all off, the band we were looking at was WESTLIFE! This wasn't 3D's first time hearing this band as Miss Daly has played it many times before! Here we are rocking out to 'World of Our Own'.

On Wednesday, it was the VPJS Poetry Day, where we had the pleasure of having Matt Goodfellow come into school. He did an inspirational whole school assembly and shared his 'rebel writing' with us. We then had a go and creating our own poems in the style of Matt. We did an amazing job!
Monday 9th January - Friday 13th January 2023
This week, we started a new book called Orion and The Dark. It's about a little boy who is afraid of the dark and has tried everything to help his fear but all is not what it seems...ask your child what happens next!
We created our own circle of fear for things that we are afraid of. Check them out below!
Continuing on with our Volcanoes & Earthquakes unit, we were looking at the different plates and plate boundaries on Earth and what happens when they move.
Tuesday 3rd January - Friday 6th January 2023
This week, we were very lucky to have been able to take part in a Volcanoes and Earthquakes drama workshop. We learned all about the different parts of the Earth and a volcano and what happens when one erupts!
