HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Wishing all of the children and families in 5R a happy new year!
It is so lovely to have all the children back together this week after the Christmas holidays. Everyone was looking much more refreshed, smart and ready to look which was so nice to see. I'm really looking forward to seeing all the fantastic things the children in 5R are going to achieve this half term.
This week, we have been thinking of our New Year's resolutions for our learning. Here are some of our resolutions.
English
This week in English, we've been focusing on improving our SPAG skills. On Thursday, we were practising using brackets, dashes and commas for parenthesis. We had a go at putting the correct punctuation into sentences, correcting sentences which were punctuated incorrectly and even writing some of our own sentences using parenthesis.
We really enjoyed moving around the classroom and sharing our different sentences.
Week 2 - Monday 10th January - 14th January 2022
The quietest moment of the week in 5R...
In 5R, we love completing the 99 club using our times tables knowledge.
We have 5 minutes to complete as many times tables questions correctly as we can to see if we can move up the club...
Who will be the first person to reach the 99 club?
Week 3 - Monday 17th January - Friday 21st January 2022
This week, we've been learning more about multiplication. We've been becoming masters of multiplying 2 digit numbers by 2 digit numbers. We enjoyed coaching our buddies.
This week, we are super proud of Yaseen in 5R. He made us all proud of him because he delivered an excellent presentation about Thalassemia, which is a blood condition. He delivered his presentation confidently and clearly. Well done, Yaseen.
Week 4 - Monday 24th January - Friday 28th January 2022
This week in PE, we've enjoyed working with Daisy from Sale Sharks to improve our Tag Rugby skills.
We enjoyed playing the Tag Master game and then working cooperatively in teams to try and pass the rugby ball and score a try.
