Astronaut Challenge

Think back to October when you were learning about space and what it would be like to be an astronaut. You had some fun activities to do to like picking up things with chopsticks to use your fine motor skills, exercise to keep fit in space and finally you got to eat some space food (including space ice cream)!

All astronauts need to be able to sort out any problems that might happen up in space if something break or gets damaged. Your task this week is to design a spacesuit for an astronaut on the International Space Station (ISS) for when they go outside the ISS on a ‘Spacewalk’ to do repairs.

Think about how your astronaut is going to breathe, keep warm/cool, drink, keep in contact with other astronauts on board, how is the astronaut connected to the ISS, where are the tools kept that they use and even what happens if they need to go to the toilet!! Here are a few ideas to get you started.
