School Council

Welcome to our School Council!

Here is a summary of what our council does...

What is a School Council?

Our School Council represents the views of all our pupils. It gives children the opportunity to make their voices heard, feel part of the whole school community and improve their school and surroundings.

We are also responsible for the organising and running different charity events such as Red Nose Day and Stretford Foodbank.

Who is in the School Council?

Each class elects two children to represent them. The children canvas their class and explain why they think they would make a good councillor. Each class then vote to elect their councillor.

What have we been up to this year...

Pupil Suggestion Box - RESPONSIBILITY & ASPIRATION

We set up a suggestion box in the hall over a few lunchtimes for pupils to think about what they would like to see happen at VPJS to make it even better! There were some excellent suggestions and ideas, which were all presented to Mr Wilkinson, teachers and governors. Watch this space to see what will be put in place.

FAF! (Friends & Family of VPJS) - RESPONSIBILITY & RESPECT

We helped FAF! launch a competition to design a new logo - showing great RESPONSIBILTIY & RESPECTWe also helped decide on the great designs from each year group that the whole school then voted on for the final winners.

Watch this space to see the new logo!

Easter at Stretford Mall - LOVE & RESPONSIBILITY

We organised an Easter Art Work Competition.

Year 3 and 4 took part in the Easter Bunny design competition for the Easter Hunt at Stretford Mall. They were so impressed with our art work that VPJS got their very own stand!

Well done to all those that took part.

Comic Relief Fundraising - EQUALITY & LOVE

We organised our FUN fundraising day for Comic Relief on Friday 18th March.

A fantastic total of £308 was raised - THANK YOU!

Lots of fun was had, as we followed this year's slogan...

We dressed up and were set the challenge of making our teachers laugh! laugh

The best jokes were then shared on zoom with the infants school - lots of fun!

Playground Plans! - ASPIRATION & LOVE

We were asked our thoughts on our current playground and then what improvements would make it even better. This was then presented to Mr Wilkinson and the governors. We are hoping to hear back about how our ideas have influenced the future plans.
