RE

At Victoria Park Junior School we aim to deliver high quality Religious Education (RE) which develops our pupils’ knowledge and understanding of the religions and beliefs which form part of our modern society. Pupils will learn that religion and beliefs inform a person’s values and are reflected in our actions.

We aim to provoke challenging questions about the ultimate meaning and purpose of life, beliefs about God, the self and the nature of reality, issues of right and wrong, and what it means to be human.   In RE, pupils will study Christianity and other principal religions along with other religious traditions and worldviews that offer answers to questions such as these.

Religious education also contributes to pupils’ personal development and wellbeing as well as community cohesion, by promoting mutual respect and tolerance in a diverse society. The aim of RE is to enable personal reflection and spiritual development as well as a deepened understanding of the impact and importance of religion in people’s lives.
