At the start of this half term, we completed our work on subtraction.
We looked again at exchanging values when using column method.
We then used our written methods to help complete word problems and investigations using subtraction.
Our next topic was looking at area of rectilinear shapes.
We learnt a method to help us when finding the area of a regular shape which had 1cm x 1cm squares.
To challenge ourselves, we then looked at finding the area of irregular shapes.
We finished the term by starting our topic of multiplication.
We looked first at multiplying a number by 10 and 100, including decimal numbers.
Next, we began looking at the formal written method of multiplying a two or three digit number by a one digit.
