CHRISTMAS WEEK
Christmas week photos and video coming soon...
In Design and Technology over the last few weeks, we've been learning all about the following:
- Measure out, cut, shape and combine e.g. knead, beat, rub and mix ingredients.
- Use appropriate utensils and equipment and use safely and hygienically.
- Follow a basic recipe to prepare and cook a savoury food product.
- Explore adapting texture, taste and appearance of recipes, e.g. which ingredients could be changed or added in a basic recipe such as types of flour, seeds, garlic, vegetables.
Our challenge was to Design, make and evaluate a savoury pizza (product) for ourselves (user) for a celebration (purpose).
This week, we enjoyed making our pizzas and they tasted delicious!
Here are some photos of us making our pizzas.
Equality
This week, in our values and attitudes session, we we're choosing a team to send on a space mission.
First, we looked at the photos of different people and made our decisions.
Then, we used separate cards of the same people and looked at the strengths, weaknesses and qualifications of the people to see if it changed our opinions of who we would take.

99 club
In 5R, we love our weekly times table challenge called 'The 99 Club' and it's definitely the most competitive (and silent) 5 minutes of the week.
This week, some 5R superstars have moved up on the 99 club to the next level and we are super proud of them.
Charlotte and Neve have moved up to the 77 club and Aydin and Finn have moved up to the 66 club.
Jack is on fire!
This week, 5R are super proud of Jack as he is the first member of our class to join the 88 club!
Jack has answered 77 times table questions correctly twice in a row in 5 minutes.
The challenge is on to see if he can now answer 88 correctly... Watch this space.
