Monday 28th November - Friday 2nd December

This week 6H have been working hard learning all about the Manchester Blitz! They studied iconic buildings in Manchester that were affected by the German bombings during World War II including: Manchester United's Old Trafford Ground (old one), Piccadilly Gardens, Free Trade Hall and many more.

6H enjoyed their maths morning, creating a tricky maths word problem for Mr. Wilkinson to solve. They spent the morning creating a times tables game to share with their year 3 buddies!

Monday 14th November - Friday 18th November

This week we have been continuing our reading of 'Letters from the Lighthouse'. Two weeks ago we started a descriptive setting of London and this week we then wrote a contrasting setting of Budmouth Point Village (countryside). Pupils were asked to create a word bank and a map of the village to aid them when describing the setting. We raised much needed funds for Children in Need on Friday - we dressed up in yellow, spots or pj's and some of us even brought in a teddy!

Monday 7th November - Friday 11th November

6H had such a wonderful week celebrating our unique and diverse backgrounds. Equalities week theme was around 'Same but Different'. We have presented out home learning from the holidays which was all about our own culture, learned how to write different languages, created our very own mirror book and researched another culture in Asia.

Monday 31st October 2022- Friday 4th November 2022

Year 6 were busy this week trying their best with their practice SAT's test papers, we are all so incredibly proud of the hard work and effort they put into this week. It was great to see the progress they have made already in year 6.

We also started our new and exciting English text 'Letters from the Lighthouse' - this links to our history topic of World War II. We had some great discussions around the cause of World War II and looked at the many important events that occurred during the war.

Our values and attitudes lesson was focused around teamwork and collaboration, children thought hard about what it means to be a team player and what skills you need to be an effective team player - this links to the achiever of the week that had to demonstrate co-operation.
