In science this week, we learned all about healthy lifestyles. We thought about diet, exercise and hygiene and how they can affect our health. Our task was to create an informative poster to help people make the correct health choices and to educate them about the consequences of an unhealthy lifestyle.

Another week has flown by in 6B!
This week, we had some special visitors. On Tuesday we had a visitor to explain all about the Baháʼí Faith.
On Thursday, we were joined by some birds of prey! We got to meet a Barn Owl, a European Eagle Owl, A Harris Hawk and a Peregrine Falcon! We will be using the facts that we have learned about the birds to write non-chronological reports next week.
We have tested our heart rates in science by completing various exercises and created games in scratch using our coding skills!

This week, we have started our new topics in science and geography.
In geography, we are looking at how our local area (Salford Quays) has developed. We located Salford Quays on a map of the UK and identified the 10 boroughs of Greater Manchester. We certainly had some interesting answers!
In science, we are learning all about 'Animals including Humans'. We thought about the different systems in the human body and learnt all about the circulatory system. Take a look at some of our work below.

EQUALITIES WEEK 2021
This week we have been exploring gender equality.
We have challenged our thinking and completed a variety of tasks to develop our understanding.
-We have looked at gender stereotypes
- We have looked at male and female roles in fairytales and have rewritten modern versions which empower the female characters
- We have investigated gendered clothing and thought about our own wardrobes
-We have learnt about gender identity and pronouns
- We have thought about inequality in football and how we can make it more equal.
-We enjoyed listening to Laura Flint (Learning Manager at MUFC) speak about women in football and share her experiences.
l
- We have also researched an inspirational woman of past or present and created a poster- I think you will agree that they look amazing!

What a week for 6B. This week, I have been SO IMPRESSED with the positive attitudes, determination and effort during our test week. We have shown off what fantastic skills we have developed in years 3,4 & 5 and tried our best.
To finish off our wonderful World War II topic and to link with our EQUALITY value this half term, we explored how different cultures and races came together to fight in World War II.
We presented our learning as a news report or a series of freeze frames.
