This week we have been marvellous mathematicians and super scientists.
In maths, we have been putting our multiplying and dividing skills to the test.
We can confidently multiply 4 digits by 2 digits and can divide 4 digits by 1 digit.
We are ready for our long division challenge and dividing by 2 digits!

In science, we have been thinking like electricians and solving problems with circuits.
We had 6 different circuits- each one had a fault that we needed to identify and fix!

This week, 6B have been testing their computing skills by using Microsoft Excel to create and edit spreadsheets.
We have learned how to input information into cells and how to format cells by changing fonts, colours and adding boarders.
Monday 13th September 2021- Friday 17th September 2021
6B have really enjoyed learning about the lives of children during WW2. This week we learned all about evacutation.
We looked inside an evacuee's suitcase and explained why certain items were so important!
I have been so impressed with 6B's reading records this week.
Lots of children have really take their time and put in SO much effort to their reading activity entry.
Take a look at some of the fantastic examples below.

What a busy week it has been in 6B.
We have jumped straight into our new topics of Electicity and World War 2.
I am so impressed with how everyone is ready to learn and gets involved.
In science, we worked in pairs to record what we already know about electricity from our year 4 topic and how that knowledge will help us with our year 6 learning.
We also started our World War 2 topic. The children were given lots of facts and new information and had to explain
Who, When, Where and Why. Take a look below of some fantastic work.
Thursday 1st September 2021- Friday 2nd September 2021
Welcome to Year 6 and a huge well done for settling in so well in your first two days! We have already done some amazing English work based on a photograph of a solider. I was so impressed with the effort from the whole class!
After much deliberation, we also voted on our first class book of the year! Crater Lake. Why is no one around when Lance and the rest of Year Six arrive at the brand new Crater Lake activity centre? A fight for survival that sees five pupils band together to save their classmates. But whatever happens, they must Never. Ever. Fall asleep!
We have also realised that 6B are VERY good at debating after spending a considerable amount of time trying to decide whether a dragon or robot would make a better pet. What do you think?
