Monday 19th October- Thursday 22nd October

This week we have been travel journalists! We chose and researched an international location that interested us, then created a travel book all about that place. We definitely put our map reading skills to good practise.

Check out our graffiti wall! We have been learning about Banksy this half term and were inspired. So we created our own tags and graffiti style pieces about current issues we feel strongly about.

Monday 12th October- Friday 16th October

This week we have developed our skills in geography by learning how to read Ordinance Survey maps and use co-ordinates to find specific locations.

We also continued to explore the character of Skellig. We even had a debate about whether or not he is an angel?

This inspired us to then create art work about angels or winged beings...

We are great SELF MANAGERS and in LEARNER ATTITUDES this week...

We created a motivation mountain using inspirational quotes that we wrote.

Monday 5th October- Friday 9th October

This week the children have produced some amazing artwork based on our text Skellig.  Using watercolours, the children have painted images of Skellig and wrote his backstory on transparent paper.

We are great SELF MANAGERS and in LEARNER ATTITUDES this week...

We learnt about growth and fixed mindset then came up with learning phrases for both. We hope to keep a growth mindset when it comes to our learning yes

Monday 28th September - Friday 2nd October

We went into our outdoor nature area to collect resources and produced some birds inspired by the birds in our text 'Skellig'.

6ET also participated in a den building competition, girls vs boys (the children's choice).  It was very tense and extremely competitive but the girls pipped the boys to the post!

We are great SELF MANAGERS and in LEARNER ATTITUDES this week...

We learnt about the learning pit and how overcoming difficulties when learning can help us be better learners.

Monday 21st September- Friday 25th September

This week, in science we have looked at the circulatory system and carried out our own independent research.  We produced our own leaflets so that we could share our knowledge and learning with others.

In our VALUES lesson this week about respect...

we designed our own logos that represent RESPECT!

Monday 14th September to Friday 18th September

As part of our learning in geography this half term, we will be developing our map skills and knowledge of places in the world. So we decided to refreshed our knowledge and make globes to share what we already know...

We are great SELF MANAGERS and in LEARNER ATTITUDES this week...

we learnt about the importance of taking risks in our learning.

Monday 7th September to Friday 11th September

This week in English we have focused on the setting description of Skellig and the techniques that the author uses.  One of 6ET's tasks this week was to draw out exactly what they think the garage looks like.  The children then labelled their drawing, using evidence from the text.  Here are some photographs of our hard work.....

Thursday 3rd September - Friday 4th September 2020

This week, we have been thinking about what makes us strong and what challenges us.

Our ideas are represented in the wonderful art work we created...
