We have been working hard in English to create a non-fiction piece about a remote Indian village called Chembakolli. Over the last two weeks, we have been researching the tribal village and learning about subordinate clauses to help present our facts.

This week in Maths we started looking at addition using the column method. We've been adding together 4-digit numbers and looking at how we exchange values. For one of our activities, we got out the dice and worked with our learning buddies to roll for 4-digit numbers and then add them together.

To celebrate the wonderful Art and writing we have produced this half term, our work has been put on display in the Lower Wing. Well done to every one for creating fantastic abstract art and writing wonderful character descriptions of the Royal Tea-Taster from Cloud Tea Monkeys!

In Art this half term, we have been studying work by an Indian artist, S. H. Raza. Using oil pastels, we created our own abstract landscapes using shape and symmetry. Here is some fantastic work by Judah, Ayaan and Ben.

In Geography, we are studying India. Over the last few weeks, we have used atlases to look at where India is in the world and the countries that surround India. This week, we learned about world's climate zones and how that might affect India's weather and landscapes. Take a look at some of this super work by Zaynab, Lavae and Tayla-Mae:

Using the school's values (Aspiration, Courage, Equality, Love, Respect and Responsibility), we came up with our class's Learning Charter. We then talked about which value means the most to each of us and how we can show that value. You can take a look at our Learning Charter which has been stuck into out school diaries on page 7.
